Ottawa Now – Montreal parents hopping mad after children’s paintings allegedly listed for sale without consent
An investigation is underway at a high school in the Montreal Region, and not for an unexpected lockdown. Multiple parents allege that one of the Art teachers has been taking their student’s drawings without consent. Not only that, these drawings are popping up on several websites on a for-sale basis, also without the student’s consent and without their knowledge. By law, unless the student has signed their rights to the educator, they own the rights to these artistic creations. Kristy Cameron digs deeper with Philippe Brouillette, an intellectual property lawyer, on Friday’s Ottawa Now.
