Bruce’s Big Night - Atlético Ottawa vs Vancouver FC
Bruce the rescue dog is the star of Bruce’s Big Night in support of Eastern Ontario Potcake Rescue (https://www.facebook.com/saveapotcake). Bruce is looking for his FURever home. Over the past two years Atletico Ottawa has dedicated a match to a rescue dog. First there was Cricket in 2021. Then there as the gentle giant Shadow in 2022. And now there is little sweet Bruce for 2023. Bruce’s Big Night will feature Bruce and many of his rescue friends along the TD Place concourse so you can say hello and see them in-person. Every dog you will see that night is available for adoption, so come early (Gates open at 6pm for 7pm kickoff) and meet them all! There will be a signed team jersey for auction that will raise much needed funds for Bruce. If you love dogs, EOPR hosts many fundraisers and events throughout the year – all in support of rescue dogs. -
ALS Awareness Ride
Join the ALS Awareness Ride as they ride their motorcycles on June 24th in support of ALS Canada. In December of 2022 David Collins found out that his sister was diagnosed with ALS. He was devastated to find out that this disease has no cure, which brings tears to his eyes every time he thinks of it. As soon as he found out that there are an estimated 3000 Canadians living with ALS he decided to take things into his own hands. He immediately went to the Community Events page on the ALS Canada page and registered an event for a motorcycle ride. From there, it just grew to include a BBQ and so much more. David was able to meet others who’s family and friends were impacted by ALS and they were excited that he wanted to do this event and create awareness. -
Youth Ottawa - Spirit Awards
The RBC Spirit of the Capital Youth Awards is an annual event Youth Ottawa hosts to highlight youth in the community. This year's main event will take place on June 29th, 2023 at the Shaw Centre. This year’s event recognizes 16 changemakers in 7 different categories: Academic Perseverance, Strength through Diversity, Take a Stand, Service and Caring, Max Keeping for Personal Courage, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Arts and Culture. Youth receive a $1,000 bursary and an opportunity to join us to celebrate their work at the gala. The gala ceremony starts with a cocktail reception followed by the awards ceremony.
