As Ontario prepares to implement new stay-at-home measures, which go into effect at 12:01am on Thursday, calls are growing for paid sick leave. Essential workers, along with low-wage workers, fear they could lose income or lose their job altogether if they miss shifts due to sickness or COVID-19 testing.
