Niagara Regional Police have issued an Amber Alert in connection to the abduction of 5 children from Lincoln.

Police say they are looking for a gold or beige pick up truck, driven by 49 year old Ian MacDermid.

He's described as a caucasian male with blue eyes and blonde hair.

The five children are all described as Asian and range in age from 5 to 14.

The pick-up truck was last spotted in Jordan, possibly heading towards Toronto.

NRP Constable Phil Gavin says the children were only reported missing to police by Family and Children's Services (FACS) Niagara in the past 24 hours.

Their investigation revealed that  between Sept 19- 25 the children were taken from the family home in Jordan by their father who has a temporary custody order.

Police say the father was to return them and is now in violation of the order.

Detectives are concerned for the safety & wellbeing of the children.

The family has resided in the Toronto area.

Anyone who may have information or know the whereabouts of MacDermid or the children are asked to call their local police.
