Bittle on proposed Bernardo TV series 'it will cause more harm and give a platform to murderers'

St.Catharines' MP is now joining the ranks of his municipal counterpart calling for the CBC to put a stop to a TV series about Paul Bernardo.

Chris Bittle says it is not something a broadcaster should use to boost sagging ratings.

Mayor of St.Catharines Walter Sendzik sent a letter to the publicly funded agency asking it to cancel plans for the Fifth Estate to film a series about the St.Catharines natives' crimes saying the scars in the community are too deep.

Bittle says it is a terrible tragedy that still shocks the core of our community and is asking the CBC to please revisit the ill-conceived idea, as it will only cause more harm and give a platform to murderers.
