BREAKING | New restrictions for COVID hotspots in Ontario
Premier Doug Ford has announced new restrictions for hot spot areas, such as Toronto, Peel and Ottawa.
Restaurants in the areas must now limit to 100 people or less, with no more than 6 people per table.
Gyms must limit to 50 people, and exercise classes limits of 10 will be in effect as of tomorrow.
Banquet halls will also be capped at 50 people for the entire facility.
All of the rules come into effect at 12:01 am Saturday October 3rd.
For the second time this week, Ontario has surpassed its previous daily high for new cases of COVID-19.
Health Minister Christine Elliott today reported 732 new cases in the province, topping Monday's total of 700.
Ford also confirmed further public health restrictions, including extending the mandatory masking policy to the entire province.
He also says people should limit their contacts to anyone outside their own households.
