Catholic church takes further steps to recognize boy known as 'Patron Saint of the Internet'

CKTB - NEWS - Internet religion

A 15 year old Italian gamer known as the 'Patron Saint of the Internet' has been recognized by the church.

Over the weekend Carlo Acutis was beatified - a recognition accorded by the Catholic Church.

Before the boy passed away in 2006 due to leukemia he created a website to catalogue miracles and devoted his life to the church.

Back in February Pope Francis said Acutis had conducted a miracle from heaven when a 7 year old boy in Brazil recovered from a rare pancreatic disorder after praying to him.

Two declared miracles are usually required for the designation of sainthood.
