Does Niagara have a racism problem?
Should Niagara have an anti-racism coalition?
St. Catharines Regional Councillor Laura Ip will be bringing up the idea at the Public Health and Community Services meeting today.
Ip says 20 other communities across Ontario host anti-racism coalitions, and she thinks it's time our region does too.
She says Niagara has a racism problem, just like other communities
She says it will allow the Region to state clearly that Niagara does not stand for racism.
The Canadian Coalition of Municipalities Against Racism and Discrimination has 75 members across Canada and 20 across Ontario, but Niagara is not involved.
