Fingers crossed that Niagara's Thanksgiving gatherings were small and responsible: MOH
There were 40 new COVID-19 cases reported in Niagara over this long Thanksgiving weekend.
On Saturday, and the holiday Monday there were 16 cases reported each day, along with 8 on Sunday, for a total of 40.
There are 116 active cases, and the number of deaths associated with the virus remains at 65.
Acting Medical Officer of Health for Niagara, Doctor Mustafa Hirji is keeping his fingers crossed that residents followed the advice to keep Thanksgiving gatherings limited.
Hirji says Niagara is on a decent path when it comes to COVID numbers, but he's hoping numbers will dip back down from the daily average of 11 cases a day.
There have been 14 school-related cases in Niagara since some students went back to in-class learning last month.
