Fort Erie gets new cannabis grow facility
Fort Erie is celebrating the opening of a new cannabis operation.
The new Stevens Green facility opened in Stevensville on Friday after getting its licence to cultivate pot plants from Health Canada back in July.
Officials bill the operation as 'a craft, at scale cannabis cultivator' employing 25 skilled workers.
In a release, representatives also praise the facility's green energy strides, including a tri-generation system which supplies energy in the form of electricity, heat, and chilled water from a single source.
Eighty-five percent of the water used on the plants is also recovered through a de-humidification process.
