GM workers south of border on strike
More than 49,000 United Auto Workers at General Motors plants in the U-S are out on the picket lines this morning.
No word yet on what effect it may have on G.M. plants here in Canada.
The U.A.W says its members walked off the job at midnight to back demands for better pay and benefits which they say were put on hold while GM was struggling
The automaker says despite the strike, talks will resume this morning in Detroit.
