CKTB News- Ice storm

The bills are still being tabulated, but the Insurance Bureau of Canada expects damage claims from last weekends ice storm that hit Southern Ontario will be around $100 million.

IBC spokesman Pete Karageorgis says there have been plenty of reports of cars and homes damaged by falling trees and basements deluged with water.

Karageorgis says many insurance companies brought in extra staff to deal with the deluge of claims.

Comparable ice and wind storms in Southern Ontario have caused between $100 and $200 million in damage.
