Impaired driving charges in fatal rollover in Wainfleet
A 20-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges after a fatal crash in Wainfleet.
It happened around 10:45 p.m last night on Lakeshore Road and Camelot Drive.
Niagara police say two men had to be extricated from a Dodge Ram pickup that rolled onto its roof after striking a tree.
One of the passengers, a 25-year-old man from Port Colborne, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second passenger, a 21-year-old man, also from Port Colborne, was airlifted to an out-of-region hospital.
The driver of the pickup was treated by Niagara EMS on the scene for minor injuries.
Brocque John Cote of Port Colborne is facing several impaired driving charges including impaired operation causing death.
He will appear in court today via video link for a bail hearing.
Police say the name of the deceased is not being released out of respect for next of kin
