Justin Trudeau weighs in on massive layoffs at Air Canada
The prime minister is offering reassurances Ottawa will continue to work directly with airlines and other big employers.
This comes after Air Canada announced it's laying off at least 20-thousand employees next month.
The figure amounts to more than half the carrier's staff.
Justin Trudeau isn't saying exactly what help Air Canada can expect to receive.
He sidestepped questions about whether aid could come in the form of a bailout.
The P-M does note his government has extended its wage subsidy program until at least the end of the summer.
