Lakeside Park Carousel will remain closed
It may not come as much of a shock, but the Lakeside Park Carousel will not open for the 2020 season.
The Friends of the Lakeside Park Carousel have been working closely with City staff to determine if and when it would be feasible to open the carousel this season.
It's been determined that given increased health and safety, and social distancing protocols it's just not possible to enforce social distancing within the enclosed environment.
In a release sent today, Katherine Nelson-Riley, Communications Director for the Friends of the Carousel group says it was not an easy decision, but the health and safety for staff, riders, and the carousel itself were the top priority.
"We’d like to make sure that this historic and beloved part of our community is here for folks to enjoy and make memories on for many more years to come,” she said.
