Latest employment numbers from Statistics Canada
Canada saw a boost in part-time, service-sector employment in August to the tune of 81,000 net new jobs.
Statistics Canada says the bulk of the new positions were picked up by young people.
The overall monthly gain, however, came as wage growth slowed from the previous month.
Average hourly wages grew by 3.7 per cent year-over-year, down from a 4.5 per cent pace in July.
