Local MPP urging Niagara tourism operators to have their voices heard
The MPP for Niagara Falls is encouraging local tourism operators to sign up for a provincial video conference on the impact of COVID-19 on the industry.
Wayne Gates says from our wineries in Niagara on the Lake, to tourist businesses in the Falls and the race track in Fort Erie, Niagara's tourism industry is one of the hardest hit from the pandemic.
He says given the size of the local industry it's imperative we have a "Made in Niagara"approach to kick starting tourism.
The province's finance committee will be conducting hearings on the issue next Thursday and Friday.
Gates says participants can register online at the Legislative Assembly’s website, or can contact his office directly and the MPP will work with them to get a speaking slot.
