Local MPP says Niagara residents are fed up with petty politics

In the legislature today, Welland MPP Cindy Forster lauded some area politicians, while criticizing others, notably Regional Council members on the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority. 

She commended Pelham's Mayor & Council for the release of a KPMG audit, which cleared the town of any financial mismanagement.  

She noted that the reputation of the municipality had been under attack by a group of regional politicians.
  
Forster then singled out Grimsby Councillor & NPCA Board Member, Tony Quirk, who she called a hypocrite for demanding transparency in Pelham, yet withholding information about what the NPCA spent on legal fees in a fight against a local citizen.

Forster says the people of Niagara are fed up with the petty politics embraced by the NPCA board members. 

Port Colborne recently endorsed a motion calling for the province to appoint a supervisor at the NPCA and Forster says she will continue to work and encourage other municipalities in Niagara to do the same.
