Man arrested after altercation at Pen Centre

Niagara police were called to the Pen Centre in St. Catharines  Friday after getting a report about an  alleged impaired driver who assaulted a security guard.

Police say the say the guard suffered minor injuries while attempting to arrest the driver.

Police reviewed security video and say the the guard acted within their legal authority and did not use excessive force.

They're aslo looking for witnessses in the mall who recorded the interaction.

Thirty-eight-year-old Dustin Picov of Fort Erie is charged with  assault, uttering threats, assault with intent to resist arrest, causing a disturbance, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to leave private property when directed.
