Man turns himself in to police following deadly alleged hit and run in NOTL
A man from Pelham has been arrested and charged as part of a Niagara Regional Police investigation into a deadly alleged hit and run in Niagara-On-The-Lake.
21 year old Patrick McCabe turned himself in to police and has been charged with failing to stop at the scene of a fatality and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
He is being held for a bail hearing tomorrow.
Officials say they have recovered the suspected vehicle.
On Saturday night just before 11 p.m. a 33 year old woman was walking along Concession 7 when she hit by the pickup, which then fled the scene.
The woman died in hospital on Monday.
At the request of her family, the victim's name is not being released, however detectives have confirmed she was a Mexican national living in the Niagara Region and employed at a local farm.
