Mayor describes ongoing roadwork projects as 'a nightmare in Thorold'
Thorold Mayor Terry Ugulini says his phone is ringing off the hook over several roadwork projects underway this week.
During this morning's Public Work's meeting a visibly angry Ugulini pointed out the Thorold Tunnel is closed in both directions, the 406 between Highway 20 and Beaverdams Road is down to one lane, and the region is planning to repave Beaverdams between the 406 and Collier Road.
"You tell me where all that traffic is going," he said as he described it as a 'nightmare in Thorold.'
Just last year politicians were championing the need for better communication between the municipalities, the Niagara Region, and the Ministry of Transportation over poorly coordinated projects.
