Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre closed for a few months after receiving grant to make upgrades
Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre is closed for a few months after receiving a grant to help update the facility.
The centre in Niagara-on-the-Lake was awarded a $143,500 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to improve its HVAC system, and enhance its accessibility.
"I'm thrilled to see Niagara Pumphouse Art Centre receive this important Trillium funding to enhance their already magnificent space in Niagara-on-the-Lake," said Wayne Gates, MPP for Niagara Falls. "I've had the privilege to attend numerous events at the Centre. Enhancing their accessibility and ensuring more people can continue to experience art and community in this wonderful space is welcoming news."
The grant will allow the centre to add and expand programs for disadvantaged youth and elderly residents.
Renovations have already begun, and the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre is now closed until the end of March 2020.
