Niagara SPCA & Humane Society offers low cost care to Manitoulin Island communities

The Niagara SPCA & Humane Society is travelling to the Manitoulin Island area to spay or neuter almost 100 pets in First Nations communities.

Niagara's Mobile Outreach Clinic has visited the communities several times over the last few years, offering veterinary services to improve pet health and wellbeing.

They anticipate performing 90 wellness exams, including vaccinations, flea and tick control, de-worming, and microchipping.

Representatives say low cost services are far less common in the remote areas of Ontario.

So far this year, Niagara SPCA's mobile facility has performed 460 surgeries and 300 exams.
