NPCA warn of potential flooding around Lake Erie

CKTB - NEWS - Flood

Officials with the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority are warning of potential flooding around Lake Erie.

With 30 to 50 mm of rain in the forecast, experts are warning water levels could raise by 1.5 m.

Niagara is also bracing for strong winds tonight, which could whip large waves across the lake.

Residents along the shoreline are being warned to keep a close eye on water level and take precautions if necessary.

Last weekend Niagara Parks Police closed a portion of the Niagara River Parkway after high winds pushed water over the retaining wall.
