Oakville teen dies in incident at Balls Falls
A 19 year old from Oakville is dead following an incident at Balls Falls yesterday.
Emergency crews and the NRP's Marine Unit were called to the Conservation area around 2:20 p.m. after reports a male had jumped into the water and not resurfaced.
An extensive search was conducted and a diver deployed into the catch pool at the bottom of the falls.
The male was located and later pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation by Grimsby detectives with the Niagara Regional Police and the office of the coroner.
Foul play is not suspected and the teens identity is not being released.
Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call police.
