Ontario government announces free full-day child care starting in 2020
The latest major funding announcement from the Ontario Liberals is free full-day child care.
Premier Kathleen Wynne made the announcement at a Toronto school this morning.
Licensed daycare will be free for preschool aged children from the age of two and a half until they are eligible to start kindergarten.
The plan will cost an estimated $2.2 billion over three years as the province expands access to affordable child care and makes free child care available starting in 2020.
