Ontario will announce back-to-school plan for September next week
Education Minister Stephen Lecce says he will be announcing a return to school plan next week.
Lecce says he's working with Ontario's chief medical officer of health and other officials to finalize the plan for students to safely return amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
He says the province could not have announced the plan sooner because COVID-19 case numbers have changed over the past month.
School boards and teachers have said they need more funding to adapt to the pandemic and Lecce says there will be additional resources and training for staff.
The government also announced $500M for 30 new schools in Ontario, including one in Wainfleet.
