Police arrest man for attempted murder after stabbing at encampment in Niagara Falls

Niagara Police have an arrest after a morning stabbing on Monday in Niagara Falls.

Officers were called just before 10 a.m. to an encampment in the area of Victoria Avenue and Buttrey Street to find a 37-year-old Niagara Falls man with stab wounds.

His injuries are described as non-life threatening, however he remains in hospital.

Police have arrested 39-year-old Mark Terrance Stacey.

He is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, and assault with a weapon.

A bail hearing will be held later today.
