Police bust $1M marijuana grow op in Niagara-on-the-Lake
Niagara Regional Police say they have dismantled a large scale marijuana grow op in Virgil.
For the past month officers have been receiving several community complaints regarding the operation at the corner of Concession 4 and Niagara Stone Road.
Police determined the grow op was operating illegally and received a search warrant for the property.
Officers raided the plant yesterday afternoon and arrested one man who was tending to the over 1000 plants.
Police say the street value of the plants is over a million dollars.
The man who was arrested was subsequently released from custody without being charged.
The NRP say the investigation is continuing and they may proceed with charges in the near future.
