Police search for suspect in Welland indecent act


Police are looking for a suspect after reports of an indecent act in Welland.

An 18 year old woman was walking through Merritt Park at 11 a.m. Wednesday when she noticed a man in a bush performing an indecent act.

The man approached her and pulled out a knife.

She threw her coffee on him, causing him to flee along the trails.

Police officers and the K9 Unit searched the area, but were unable to locate the man.

The suspect is described as a 5'10" South Asian man in his 20s with a thin build and dark scruffy facial hair.

At the time he wore a black scarf on his face, a black hooded sweater with a grey design on the mid-section and a red ring in the centre, blue jeans, and possibly dark coloured shoes.

He was also possibly wearing a dark hat or a tuque.
