Residents invited to enjoy Open Streets in St. Catharines
Pedestrians won't have to compete with vehicles in downtown St. Catharines during the second annual Open Streets.
Vehicular traffic will be halted on parts of St. Paul and James Streets on Sunday afternoon so residents can freely stroll along and take part in some free activities.
This year the Niagara IceDogs are hosting hockey, the River Lions will be shooting some hoops, and the St. Catharines Museum invites everyone to a historic walking tour.
Officials say the event is meant to promote the streets as a public space that should be used and enjoyed by all people.
The event is happening between 1 p.m .and 4 p.m.
