Second suspect arrested in death of Pelham senior
A man charged in the death of a Pelham senior was a key witness in a Hamilton murder trial.
49 year old Jason Lusted is facing a second degree murder charge in the death of 74 year old Earl Clapp who police believe was dragged by a vehicle when he tried to stop thieves from taking a trailer on his property.
The victim was found lying on the roadway and died on the scene from his injuries.
The Hamilton Spectator says Lusted who was arrested Saturday was a crown witness in the murder trial of Jeremy Hall of Hamilton.
The trial wrapped up a few weeks ago and a verdict is expected later this month.
A second man, identified as 39 year old Matthew MacInnes of Wellandport, is also charged with second degree murder in the death of Earl Clapp.
