Soccer coming to Meridian Centre this fall

When we think of the Meridian Centre we think of hockey and basketball - but this fall - soccer will make its debut at the downtown St.Catharines facility.

The Major Arena Soccer League will play one of its six-city tour games in the garden city.

The cities chosen for the games include St. Catharines, Kingston, Oshawa, Windsor, Sarnia and Brampton.

Metrostars Canada says the games will provide a chance for soccer fans in marquee cities throughout southern Ontario the chance to enjoy fast-paced, world-class soccer with
a lineup of talent and management that can't be found anywhere else.

Further announcements regarding game sponsors and staff/player lineups will be revealed in the coming days.
