'Star Trek: Discovery' filming creates thousands of jobs in Ontario

Ontario based filming for the television show 'Star Trek: Discovery' is helping the province prosper.

Over the last two seasons of filming in the province, production crews have spent more than $257 million and created just shy of 4,200 jobs.

The latest report from MNP shows each season supported more than 100 Ontario-based businesses.

Niagara got in on some of the action, with crews using the Balls Falls Conservation Area to stand in for the newly discovered 'New Eden' in season two.
