Still waiting for a sale on the former GM property in St.Catharines
Residents hoping for a sale of the former GM property in St.Catharines will have to wait longer.
A 30-day period has been granted, to current owner Bayshore Group and an interested buyer, to close the deal on the Ontario Street property.
St. Catharines City Councillor Karrie Porter is hoping the deal can get done, saying residents living in the area deserve more than the abandoned property.
In a months time, the city will be able to take over the property and a tax sale can be held.
St. Catharines is owed more than $1.5 million in property taxes from Bayshore.
Losani Homes has expressed interest in buying the property.
