The hospital will be rebuilt: MPP Oosterhoff on $2M for West Lincoln Memorial Hospital
Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff says West Lincoln Memorial Hospital will be rebuilt.
The PC politician making the commitment following news yesterday that another $2 million dollars will be spent on upgrades and renovations at the aging Grimsby hospital.
Babies are not being born naturally at the hospital's popular maternity ward as renovations continue on the operating rooms.
The government has already committed $8.5 million in upgrades, and another $500,000 for plans to rebuild the hospital.
Oosterhoff says he is committed to the rebuild and so is Premier Doug Ford.
He says this funding announcement will shorten the time the one operating room is closed, so they can restore obstetrics to the facility as quickly as possible.
Oosterhoff says west Niagara continues to grow and the area needs a new hospital to service those residents.
Currently the upgrades are anticipated to be completed by late 2020.
