Today is Day of Action on Long Term Care
Today members of the Ontario Health Coalition will demonstrate across the province in " A Day of Action on Long Term Care."
The Coalition points out over 1,900 residents and staff have died from COVID-19 in long term care homes in Ontario.
It says the funding and staffing announcements made by the Ford government over the last week are far less than what is needed and do not address longstanding issues with lack of full time work and poor conditions.
The group says current public health guidelines forbid groups of more than 25 outdoors so in accordance with the rules they will be holding media conferences and motorcades today.
A media conference and motorcade will be held outside Conservative MPP Sam Oosterhoff’s Beamsville office.
In Hamilton, group members will hold a news conference in Gore Park.
