United Auto Workers Union rejects GM's latest offer
The GM strike stateside continues as the union rejects the company's latest offer.
GM officials offered a proposal to the union late Monday, but representatives for the United Auto Workers Union say it still falls short of their demands.
Instead, the union has submitted a counterproposal.
Details are scarce, but the outstanding issues are health care, wages, and job security.
Hundreds of workers in St. Catharines are feeling the pinch as the American strike has caused layoffs here.
Meanwhile, the Oshawa plant has also been completely halted by the strike.
This is the 17th day union workers are hitting the picket lines.
