Wainfleet Fire Chief puts out warning after 'small fire' turns dangerous
Wainfleet's Fire Chief is putting out a warning after a small fire quickly raged out of control.
Chief Morgan Alcock says the fire department was called out yesterday after combustible materials near a seemingly insignificant fire burst into flames.
The fire spread through the bush and under a neighbouring dwelling.
The property owner did not have a permit to conduct an open air burn, and did not have something nearby to control the flames.
As a result, the owner has received a penalty notice.
Alcock reminds Wainfleet residents that they can apply for burn permits online.
