Welland council to consider making Naloxone available at some municipal properties
Welland Council will be looking into the possibility of having Naloxone available at key municipal properties.
According to tonight's agenda, Councillor Lucas Spinosa will bring forward a motion asking staff to put together a report outlining potential locations and investigating the cost of having the life saving substance readily available.
Although it does not completely reverse the effects of opioids, Naloxone can be used to buy time for an ambulance to arrive when a person is experiencing an overdose.
Spinosa's motion calls for the program to be in place by early next year.
