Welland officials report good year for housing builds
Officials with the city of Welland say they could be looking at another year of record breaking housing builds.
In 2018, the city reported 400 housing permits were issued.
This year 406 residential building permits have been approved so far, but experts believe that number could reach 450 by the end of the year.
"The city is active with construction this year, and we expect it to continue throughout the year," Chief Building Official Jack Tosta says via a release. "Niagara has become a hot-spot for housing development, so we're predicting a successful year and busy 2020 within the Building and Planning Divisions."
