Flood Plain Mapping projects
Kawartha Conservation has launched two floodplain mapping projects to continue the work of updating or establishing floodplain mapping tools within the Kawartha watershed.
Nine and a half kilometers of McLaren's Creek and six and a half kilometers of Fenelon Falls South will be the subject sites for the next 18-months.
Data provided through these floodplain mapping projects will allow the City and Kawartha Conservation to be much more prepared for potential threats as well as better guide the land use decisions in the future.
The Conservation Authority has been approved for a National Disaster Mitigation Program funding grant towards the $180,000 cost of both projects.
