The Kawarthas could be home to a couple of pot shops

Fowlers Corners has been chosen as a location to get a new pot shop.

The province announced 42 new brick-and-mortar licenced cannabis stores yesterday .

But some analysts say the licenced cannabis stores coming to the province won't be enough to quell the black market.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario _ which regulates the sector _ held its second cannabis store lottery  and announced the results yesterday.

Once they're approved, the new stores will more than double the number of marijuana outlets in the province.

Omar Khan advises cannabis sector clients, and he says the new shops are quote -- ``nowhere near'' what's needed to meet demand.

Coffee Time at Fowlers Corners could be converted into a marijuana store, which would be run by cannabis retailer Huge Shops.

The winners now have until August 28th to complete an application to open a store that will be vetted by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

A location across from the Whitney Town Centre in Lindsay is on a waiting list along with a shop in Peterborough on Chemong Road.
