City Launches Pop-Up Visitor Information Centre in Downtown
Owen Sound, Ontario Wednesday, July 15, 2020

The City of Owen Sound will be offering Tourism and Visitor Services in a new location this summer. The City’s “Pop-up” Visitor Information Centre will be located at 173 8th Street East in the Downtown Core, across from City Hall and the Farmers’ Market.

The Visitor Information Centre will serve as an important resource for visitors, residents and tourism focused businesses as Ontario and the Grey-Bruce region move through Stage 3 of the recovery framework.

The location in the downtown core will offer many of the same services that visitors and residents have been accustomed to at the traditional location on the inner west harbour. This includes providing visitor services and tourism support on behalf of Owen Sound and area businesses, merchandise and souvenirs as well as bike rental services.

The space will open to the public on Thursday, July 16. A maximum of four visitors at one time are permitted.

“It has been great to witness residents and visitors returning to Owen Sound to support our local businesses and enjoy our outdoor amenities in a safe and responsible manner”, said Owen Sound Mayor, Ian Boddy. “Offering Visitor Services downtown provides an important touchpoint for everyone, as we explore all of the wonderful things to do in our very own backyard this summer.”
