MAN CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED BY DRUG IN CITY PARK
The Owen Sound Police Service was contacted this morning before 10:00 a.m. by a concerned citizen who reported seeing two males passed out in a vehicle at Harrison Park with the vehicle still running. Officers immediately attended the busy parking lot and located the men sleeping in the front seat.
Officers had difficulty waking the driver and when he eventually came-to, the male showed obvious signs of being impaired. The 25 year old was arrested for impaired by drug and was brought to a local detachment where he participated in a series of sobriety tests given by a qualified Drug Recognition Expert. The results of the tests confirmed that the male was impaired by drug.
The driver was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired by drug and for failing to abide by a condition of his undertaking. The vehicle was impounded and the males licence has further been suspended for 90 days. He is to appear in court on October 8th, 2020, in Owen Sound.
