92.3 The Dock announces goal reached in fundraising campaign
92.3 The Dock is thrilled to announce that we have reached our $250,000 'Radio for Oncology' fundraising goal in support of the Oncology Department at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound Regional Hospital.
The funds, raised through community events, have gone towards much needed equipment at the brand new oncology department.
Hospital Foundation Executive Director Amy McKinnon says they wouldn't be able to do it without enormous public support...
McKinnon says the money has been used to purchase much needed equipment for the new oncology department and allows patients to stay closer to home for treatment.
This is the second $250,000 goal The Dock has raised.
The first - Radio for Radiology - wrapped up in September of 2016 bringing the total raised in six years to half a million dollars.
"We are thrilled to reach our target and to help make a difference for so many people in our area," said Mora Austin, General Manager of 92.3 The Dock.
"It's because of the generosity of our listeners, advertisers and community partners that we have so successfully achieved this goal in less than 4 years. I am so proud of our team at 'The Dock' who have put in countless hours of effort into Radio for Oncology. This type of success makes us proud to be part of Grey and Bruce Counties," said Rebecca Chisholm, Sales Manager of 92.3 The Dock
"I want to thank 92.3 The Dock and all their supporters for their generous donations," said Gary Sims, President and CEO of Grey Bruce Health Services.
"It is incredible to think that through Radio For Oncology, lives will and have been saved! It is also amazing to see a community's generosity, support, and care for what happens at the Owen Sound Regional Hospital" said Don Vail, Program Director and Afternoon Host, 92.3 The Dock.
"It's pretty amazing that with the help of this community we've managed to raise $500,000 in six years for the hospital. Let's keep it going" said Diana Meder News Director and Morning Show Host at The Dock.
92.3 The Dock has decided to keep it going and will continue to raise funds from Radio For Oncology, to support cancer care at the Owen Sound Regional Hospital.
