A few tweaks to Remembrance Day service in Owen Sound
Remembrance Day is going to be a bit tricky this year in Owen Sound.
Because of the detours in place for the construction of the 10th Street bridge, the city will not be closing the 8th Street bridge as usual during this year's service at the cenotaph.
This year, the bridge will be open to traffic during the service after the parade has arrived.
Observers may gather along the sidewalk on the north side of the 8th Street Bridge and on 1st Avenue West in front of hte cenotaph.
That stretch will still remain blocked as usual.
The Remembrance Day parade will proceed as it has in previous years, beginning just south of the Metro driveway along 2nd Avenue East to 8th Street East and across the bridge to the cenotaph.
Police will be on scene directing traffic at the inserctions of both 8th and 9th Streets East at 2nd Avenue.
