Arson charges laid in connection with Port Elgin blaze
On December 31st, 2019 at 12:39am emergency services were dispatched to an address on Century Drive in Port Elgin concerning a working fire.
Officers arrived on scene with Saugeen Shores Fire and ensured that all occupants have been removed from the home.
The fire was eventually extinguished after causing extensive damage to the residence.
The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal (OFM) was called to assist with this investigation.
It has been determined that fire had been deliberately set.
A Port Elgin man has been arrested and charged with:
2. Trespass by night
3. Obstructing a police
He was remanded in custody for a bail hearing.
