Charges laid in fatal summertime collision in Southgate
Grey Bruce OPP have now laid charges in connection with a fatal collision this summer.
Police along with Grey County Paramedics and the Dundalk Fire Department were called to Southgate Rd 26 on July 29th, just before 11pm where they discovered a pick up truck on its roof in the ditch.
A 21 year old South Bruce man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second male was removed from the vehicle by the fire department then transported to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.
A third male, was also transported to hospital with minor injuries.
On November 26, OPP with assistance from OPP Grey Bruce Crime Unit, arrested 26 year old, John FRANKEN from Huron-Kinloss and the following charges have been laid,
" Dangerous Operation causing death, section 320.13(3) Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
" Dangerous Operation causing bodily harm, section 320.13(2) CC
" Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), section 320.14(1)(b) CC
" Operation causing death, section 320.14(3) CC
" Operation causing bodily harm, section 320.14(2) CC
" Public Mischief, section 140(1)(b) CC
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking.
There next court date is at Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on December 19, 2019.
