Fish off the menu for some this Easter weekend
While anglers were hoping to get out on the boat to do some early spring fishing this weekend, that's been made virtually impossible with the closure of boat launches around the region.
No fishing is permitted right now at any of the usual favourites this time of year including Denny's Dam, Port Elgin or Southampton harbours.
And Owen Sound has also blocked off its boat lauches around the harbour which has not gone over very well.
City officials say they kept them open as long as they could trying to balance the temptation for people to travel against giving members of the public something to do.
However we're told that you can fish from the harbour as long as you're physically distancing and fishing by boat in the harbour is also permitted if you have your own private boat launch.
Owen Sound attracts hundreds of anglers from across the region in the spring and fall.
